Privacy and Data Use Policy

This document is published in Spanish and English. If there is any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version shall prevail.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

  1. 01 Identity of the Data Controller

Norvan Legal Consulting, Bufete Jurídico (hereinafter, “Norvan Legal Consulting”), is responsible for the processing of the personal data described in this policy.

For privacy-related questions or requests, please write to norvanlegalconsult@outlook.com with the subject line “Privacy”.

  2. 02 Categories of Data Collected

We may collect the data you provide voluntarily through the form or our contact channels, including your name, company, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, area of enquiry and the content of your message.

When you contact us by email, telephone, WhatsApp or another channel, we may also retain the data needed to manage and follow up on that communication.

The website and its technical providers may process basic technical data, such as IP address, browser type, access date and time, and security logs, when needed to deliver and protect the website. Norvan Legal Consulting does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural-tracking tools on this website. If that practice changes, this policy and, where appropriate, the consent mechanism will be updated before those tools are activated.

The website is intended for people seeking legal services and is not intended to collect data from minors. Do not send documents, highly sensitive information or confidential details of a matter through the form before Norvan Legal Consulting confirms that it can take on the matter.

  3. 03 Purpose of Processing

We use the data to respond to your enquiry and communicate with you through the channel you have provided; gain an initial understanding of the support requested and direct the enquiry to the appropriate professional or practice area; arrange a meeting, an initial assessment or the steps preceding a possible professional relationship; maintain reasonable records of communications and follow up on requests; protect the website, prevent misuse and resolve technical incidents; and comply with applicable legal, contractual and professional obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or use it to send promotional communications without separate authorisation where such authorisation is required.

  4. 04 Legal Basis and Consent

We process the data you provide through the form with your authorisation, expressed through the consent checkbox. When you voluntarily initiate communication by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we use the data needed to respond to the request you send us.

If an enquiry leads to a professional relationship, processing may also be necessary to prepare or perform the engagement, manage the client relationship and comply with legal and professional duties. You may withdraw your consent for uses based solely on it, without affecting processing carried out previously or any applicable retention obligations.

  5. 05 Data Retention Period

We retain data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Enquiries that do not lead to a professional relationship will be retained for no more than 24 months from the last communication and will then be deleted or anonymised, unless a legal obligation, a pending claim or a documented reason requires longer retention.

Where a professional relationship is established, files and communications will be retained for the periods required or permitted by applicable law and Norvan Legal Consulting’s contractual and professional obligations.

  6. 06 Transfers and Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may provide strictly necessary access to authorised Norvan Legal Consulting personnel and to providers that support the operation of the website and communications, such as hosting, form-receipt, email, messaging, security and backup services. Those providers must use the information only to provide the contracted services and under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

Some providers may store or process information outside Guatemala. In those cases, Norvan Legal Consulting will seek to use reputable providers and reasonable contractual or organisational measures to protect the information.

If you choose to communicate through WhatsApp or open links to Google Maps or social media, those third parties will process the information in accordance with their own policies. We may also disclose data where required by law, a valid order from an authority or the defence of rights.

  7. 07 Confidentiality, Security and Professional Privilege

Norvan Legal Consulting applies reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information against unauthorised access, use, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Information received within a properly established professional relationship is handled in accordance with applicable duties of confidentiality and professional privilege. Submitting information through the website does not by itself create a lawyer-client relationship or guarantee that all information sent before the matter is accepted will be protected by professional privilege. For that reason, please share general information only until you receive confirmation from Norvan Legal Consulting.

  8. 08 Rights of the Data Subject

You may request information about the personal data we hold about you and, where applicable, ask to access, update, correct, delete or restrict it, withdraw consent, or object to a specific use.

To make a request, write to norvanlegalconsult@outlook.com with the subject line “Privacy” and provide the information needed for us to identify your record and respond. We may request reasonable verification of identity. Some requests may be limited by legal or contractual obligations, file-retention requirements or professional privilege. If that occurs, we will explain the applicable reason.

  9. 09 Contact and Updates

For questions about this policy or the processing of your data, write to norvanlegalconsult@outlook.com.

Norvan Legal Consulting may update this policy to reflect legal, operational or technological changes. The current version will be available on this page together with its last-updated date.
